You can alter the ingredients to fit your taste buds. It only takes a few minutes to whip up this delicious Strawberry Banana Milkshake Recipe.

Easy Strawberry & Banana Milkshake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsp. strawberry preserves
  • ⅔ c. milk
  • Optional - Fresh Strawberries
  • Whipped Cream
Instructions
  1. Peel Banana and place unpeeled banana in the blender.
  2. Add the Ice Cream, Strawberry Preserves (and a few fresh strawberries if you wish) and Milk.
  3. Blend until you have reached your desired consistency. I like it smooth.
  4. Want thicker? Use a little more ice cream.
  5. Once blended, place into glasses and top with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry.

  • 3 cups (450 g) frozen unsweetened strawberries
  • 2 cups (480 ml) coconut water
  • 1 lime, peeled
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) raw agave nectar
  • 2 cups (480 ml) ice cubes
Instructions
  1. Place ingredients into blender
  2. Blend until you reach desired consistency

Please take into consideration that this recipe is made for the Vitamix 5200 Kitchen Blender. If you are using a different blender you will need to alter the instructions to work with the blender you have with regards to the variable speeds and possibly the time needed to process and reach the desired consistency. *Note: This recipe has been written for the Vitamix 5200. If you are using a different Vitamix machine, you may need to make adjustments to the Variable Speed and/or processing time.

  • 1 banana
  • 1 small orange, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries

  1. Place ingredients in blender
  2. Blend until you reach desired consistency

Place all ingredients in a blender –may I suggest the Waring MX1000 — and blend on high until smooth. Pour into glass or travel container and enjoy!

It can be made using an immersion blender or a regular blender. Tomato soup is always a favorite in our house, and it will soon be a favorite in yours as well. Give this tomato soup recipe a try – you won’t be disappointed!

Easy Hearty Tomato Soup

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme or parsley
  • 1 28-ounce can whole peeled tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 14-ounce can whole peeled tomatoes, with juice
  • 4 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth, “no-chicken” broth (see Note) or vegetable broth
  • ½ cup half-and-half (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat butter and oil over medium heat in a Dutch Oven, until the butter is melted. Add celery and onion. Cook, stirring occasionally for about 4 to 6 minutes and onion and celery is softened. Add thyme (or parsley) and garlic. Cook, stirring until fragrant, about 10 seconds.
  2. Next, add canned tomatoes, including juice, while stirring. Add broth, increase heat - bring to a lively simmer. Reduce heat to maintain the lively simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Using an immersion blender, puree the soup in the pot. Alternatively you can blend the soup in batches in a blender. *Caution! It's hot and will burn - BE CAREFUL when using the immersion blender! If you're using half-and-half - stir that in. Add salt and pepper. Stir and you're done! Delicious Tomato Soup!

 

*You can make this recipe ahead of time. To preserve, cover and refrigerate for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

*Despite it’s name, “Chicken-flavored broth” which is a vegetarian broth is more desirable than vegetable broth in this recipe because of its rich and hearty flavor. Sometimes it is called “No-Chicken” broth, it can be found with the soups in the natural food section of most grocery stores.

  • 1 cup raw unsweetened strained almond milk

  • 1 cup ice (or more if using fresh berries)
  • ½ cup raw coconut meat (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp raw almond butter or more depending on your preference
  • 1 Tbsp Vega One Berry Protein Powder (optional for BE - please read note in post)
  • 1 Tbsp raw hemp seeds
  • 1 Tbsp raw chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp raw flaxseeds
  • 1 tsp alcohol-free natural vanilla extract
  • 20 drops of Sweet Leaf vanilla crème stevia OR if you are not following Body Ecology you could add a 2 - 4 pitted dates
  • pinch of Celtic sea salt
Instructions
  1. Place all of the ingredients in your Waring Blender (or any other type of blender) and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Tweak flavours to taste. You might like more sweetener, almond butter, ice etc.
  3. Makes about two 16-ounce glasses.

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • 1½ c. sugar
  • ½ c. self-rising flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ stick butter, melted
  • 7 oz. pkg. flaked coconut
Instructions
  1. Shove everything in the blender (keep a small handful of coconut flakes out to sprinkle on top of the pie)
  2. Blend on low speed for about 3 minutes.
  3. Pour your coconut pie mixture into a greased 9" pie pan.
  4. The Coconut Blender Pie will make it's own crust.
  5. Bake it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove and let stand for about 5 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle remainder of coconut flakes on top of pie.

National Margarita Day Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 ounces 100 percent agave silver/blanco tequila, divided
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 4 limes, divided
  • ½ small Hamlin or Valencia orange
  • 2 tablespoons light agave nectar
  • ¾ cup ice cubes, about 3 to 4
Instructions
  1. Pour ½-ounce of the tequila into a small saucer. Spread the kosher salt in a separate small saucer. Dip the rim of a martini or other wide rimmed glass into the tequila. Lift out of the tequila and hold upside down for 10 seconds to allow for slight evaporation. Next, dip the glass into the salt to coat the rim. Set aside.
  2. Halve 2 of the limes, cut a thin slice for garnish from 1, and set aside. Juice the halved limes into the bottom of a Boston-style cocktail shaker. Cut the remaining 2 limes and the orange into quarters and add them to the juice in the shaker. Add the agave nectar to and muddle for 2 minutes until the juices are release. Strain the juice mixture through a cocktail strainer into the top of the shaker and discard the solids.
  3. Return the juice to the bottom of the shaker, add the remaining 1½ ounces of tequila and any remaining on the saucer. Add the ice to the shaker, cover and shake for 30 seconds. Strain the mixture through a cocktail strainer into the prepared glass, garnish with reserved lime slice, and serve immediately.
